Sorry guys. We've been SO busy I've barely had time for morning coffee (which I've taken to drinking in the morning lately, I used to be an afternoon cafe goer). Thanks for the kind comments about the mermaid shadowbox. She's sitting on the piano with the other ones and I'm loving being able to see all of them all the time. They are really wonderful.
We've been doing archery and playing chess, karate and piano lessons (and then there's all the practising), hair cuts, running here and there getting the kids ready for camp, playing at the gym (ok excercising, but it really feels like playing when we're all done), hanging at the library, and the kids went with Jeff to his school the other day for "Take Your Child to Work Day," so much so much.
I've been collapsing into a chair in the evening and just vegging in front of the tv I've been so tired.
The kids enjoyed watching their dad at work. They even participated in some of the stuff the school kids were doing (this is a 4th grade classroom), but mostly they were bored and didn't understand why the kids were made to do some of the things they were made to do. They also really didn't understand why the kids were not paying attention during the out loud reading time, after all their dad was reading one of their favorite books right now - the first book in The Edge Chronicles series.
One of the kids in the class leaned over to Robin and said "you're a fucker." I asked Robin what happened that made the kids say that and his response was "Nothing! I really don't know! He's a weird kid mom." It might have been because the evening before the kids went with Jeff, Robin and Stu both asked to have their hair dyed red. So that's what we did. And it looks shocking and very cool.
I've been researching cars because we should be able to buy a new one (at least new for us) sometime in the next 6 months. I've looked at hybrids but they're either too small or way too expensive. I guess to be green you have to have money. I even checked out suv's, I'm almost ashamed to admit that, but they eat so much fuel and energy I just can't justify buying one.
So I've made my decision, finally. It's a mini suv, it gets great mileage, and it's the funkiest looking car on the road today. Wannna guess? Ok, it's a Honda Element, I'm thinking orange. I even have a friend who sells them, so I've been promised a good deal. Now we just need a job for Jeff!

I hear you about the busy! Coffee is good though!
Poor Robin! I feel for him. The boy came home with a nasty bruise where an older kid chucked a rock at him. Survey says = drama!
TV has been a good opiate of my masses. We watched two hours of “House MD” tonight. I so recommend it!
Elements are cool!
You go girl!
